"The Hawaiian words, Ola Lokahi, (Thrive in Harmony) describe the basis for my core beliefs - that is, maintaining harmony and balance in all aspects of our lives."
Aloha! Life is full of change and transition, and that means life is also full of times when we need extra support to manage the anxiety, depression, and/or distress that often comes along with it. If this sounds like you, you're in the right place. As a Hawaii transplant, I often incorporate Hawaiian values in my work as I believe it provides a new living perspective to values that can help us reach our full sense of self.
I love working with...
PTSD, trauma, adjustment issues, and marriage counseling.
Some of my favorite approaches include...
ACT, collaborative goal setting, strength-based, and mindfulness focused.
How I help...
My therapeutic approach is interactive, collaborative, and non-judgmental.
I believe...
I believe in helping individuals and families find their full potential and maintain self-determination, no matter what the overwhelming struggles are whether it be trauma, addiction, relationship obstacles, or just feeling "stuck."
What it's like in session with me...
I like to think of myself as a treatment partner, not someone who sits silently while you figure out your own path forward. That means I take a holistic, collaborative approach to treatment, with a nod to evidence-based practices, such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, as well as using EMDR and trauma-focused CPT for PTSD and other trauma-related symptoms.
