Hello, I'm Alex (she/her) and I am an AMFT. I specialize in creating an all-accepting space for clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, and emotional disconnect by taking an eclectic, collaborative and open approach.
I love working with...
I enjoy working with teens, adult individuals and support groups. I work mainly with trauma, depression and anxiety.
Some of my favorite approaches include...
Some of my favorite approaches include empowering and collaborating with my clients to help them fulfill their therapy goals.
How I help...
I use an existential, narrative philosophy to inspire meaning-making, insight exploration and curiosity. Using a person-centered humanistic approach, I collaborate with my clients to create a safe place for self-discovery.
I incorporate elements of mindfulness, body work and DBT skills as well as narrative techniques and EMDR. Above all, the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship we will cultivate together in session, which is in and of itself an invaluable tool. I value the concepts of authenticity, comfort and client autonomy in the therapy space. We will always go at your own pace.
So, without further ado, I invite you to grab a blanket, a soul-warming mug of tea, and make yourself as comfortable as can be. Let us begin.
I believe...
...you already have a lot of the tools you need or hope to find. Sometimes we just need a reminder of how to come back to them and ourselves.
What it's like in session with me...
I know how uncomfortable it can be to sit in the therapy chair, trust me, I've been there! But something in you made you want to reach out, and I think sometimes that's the hardest part of all. So we're going to go at your pace, and remember that ultimately this is you leading this remarkable and transformative process. I'll be there to sit with you in your pain and cheer with you in your joy.
